Formally Plateau Sports Park, the area Between Playland Amusement Park and Empire Field was redeveloped and opened in the spring of 2015 to offer residents in the area top quality exercise equipment and leisurely areas to enjoy. Beach volleyball courts, a multipurpose sports court for multiple sports, Outdoor Ping-Pong tables, Fitness equipment, a playground and of course two large slides. After the Vancouver Parks Board asked for input in the renaming of a number of public parks, some daycare staff approached the organization with some suggestions that children who enjoy the park came up with; the most popular name being Slidey Slides Park. On Monday, May 1st, the park was officially renamed upon public request.
The location has the potential to be a high traffic area, so please be careful about prying eyes. During PNE time please pay extra special attention to stealth. After finding the cache, please feel free to enjoy the area and maybe even try out the Slidey Slides!
