Geocache Description:

A turtle tub containing a logbook, a few swaps and a unactivated geocoin for FTF.

This cache is placed on a favourite geohound walk of ours.

The  Clump was once a viewing site for public hangings between 1768 and 1788 and also the site of the Battle of Stalling Down in 1403 between the supporters of the Welsh leader Owain Glyndwr and those of King Henry1V of England.  It is adjacent to an ancient Roman Road.

To the back of the clump is a gap in the wall where you will get spectacular views over the Bristol Channel. To the right is a bench dedicated to Jack Solomon with a quote "never tire of the view" a lovely spot for lunch maybe?

I have  added parking waypoints but you could also incorporate this cache into the lovely 6.5 mile Iolo Morgannwg walk starting in Cowbridge.
