Geocache Description:

Welcome to Woodlawn Cemetery.

This cemetery is special to me, as I have many relatives buried here.

CONGRATS TO ?? for FTF!!!!!

The Family:

When you get to the posted coordinates, say hello to my Grandma Aktinson.

Grandma Atkinson was an interesting woman. I never knew Grandpa Atkinson, nor his parents - Great Grandpa & Grandma Atkinson. Grandma Atkinson could make the most wonderful tea biscuits in minutes. They were so good. I can still taste them. We didn't go down to her house too much, but those biscuits were indeed good.

The puzzle:

You will know you are at the correct coords as there will be a flat headstone at your feet with the name ATKINSON across the top. Her first and middle names were "Frances" and "Robena".
Now for drdrkxz's miserable puzzle:

  1. There are two dates on the headstone. A birth date and a death date.
  2. Convert the two dates to two eight-digit number in the syntax: YYYYMMDD. Call one A and the other B.
  3. Call the sum of these two numbers (A & B) ... C.
  4. From C, subtract twenty four million one hundred and twenty eight thousand, three hundred and seventy nine. Call it D.
  5. Divide this number by ten million. Call it E.
  6. Using C, add all the digits together to give you a two-digit number. Call it F.
  7. i.e. if your number is 1958 then your new number is 1+9+5+8=23
  8. Add eighty nine to F and call it G.
  9. Starting at the posted coordinates, project a waypoint to the final coordinates, using G as your Forward Azimuth and a distance of E. Oh by-the-way, almost forgot. Your units are in furlongs. Nope not feet and definitely not in meters. Deal with it, I'm really old school.
  10. HAPPY PROJECTING!!! TeeHee!!!
  11. Do not you just love, puzzles!!!
