Created in 1996 by Irish artist John Kindness, The Big Fish is a mosaic sculpture in Donegall Quay, Belfast. It is decorated with newspaper headlines from various years, as well as old advertisements and school children's drawings. It marks where the River Farset, a paved-over river that Belfast was named after, meets the Lagan. Your mission is to figure out the following co-ordinates by looking for certain pieces of the moasic.
N 54° 3A.BCD W 005° 5E.FGH
A - One piece of the mosaic states that the Queen will get a pay rise, in a three digit number. What is the third digit of this?
B - Around the fish's left eye, you'll find a copy of The Belfast Mercury talking about the Liverpool sailings. When you add up all four digits in the issue number of the paper, take the second digit of that away from the first and then take 1 away, you'll find B.
C - On the fish's right side, there's a 1750 listing titled "From The Port Of Belfast". A two-digit number is repeated twice in the first listing - what is the first digit of this number?
D - Somewhere on the fish, there's a copy of The Belfast Daily Mercury published in June 1857. When you add up the two numbers from the day of the month, take the second digit of that.
E - An advertisement with an airplane at the top of it can be found on the fish. In the listing near the bottom for Alex. M. Hamilton & Co, an address is listed. Add the first digits of the two house numbers under this to get E.
F - A picture commemorating the anniversary of shutting the Gates of Derry shows the year it was printed - add the first and third digits of this year to get F.
GH - Dunville & Co. have an advert announcing their whisky on the fish, stating that a certain number of prize medals was awarded. How much, though? The first digit of this is G, and the second is H.
