It's time for the annual Fall Clean-up.
This year we will be doing something different.
We have been requested to clean up a restaurant for Butterflies.
Join us at Resaca de la Palma State Park for a couple hours of volunteer work in the outdoors that we all love so much.
Date: September 30
Time: 9:00 - 11:00 AM
Place: Resaca de la Palma State Park Visitors Center
The Butterfy Garden has sunflowers and other invasive species of plants that need to be removed.
Because we will be working in the sun, you may want to bring a hat, sunscreen, and clothing to protect you from the suns rays.
If you have them or can borrow them, bring gloves, trimming shears, and loppers.
The park has a few pairs of garden gloves that may or may not fit your hands. They also have one trimming shears and one lopper. I will be bringing one trimming shears and one lopper.
If you attend a CITO Event between Sept 23 and Oct 1, you will receive a souviner for your profile page. This CITO Event qualifies.
Unless you come early, there may be little time available for Geocaching within the park. The park has scheduled hunting after 12:00 Noon.
Two months ago, part of Hwy 281 from Hidalgo to Brownsville was closed for construction. You could not get to the park when driving this road from the west. I do not know if construction is finished.
