Geocache Description:

This multi-cache is placed with permission of Fairy Stone State Park. It is one of the six original Virginia State Parks opening June 15, 1936.  With 4,741 acres and 168 acre lake adjoining the Philpott Reservoir, Fairy Stone State Park is a great location for swimming, fishing, hiking, picnics, camping and wildlife viewing.  Fairy Stone State Park is located at 967 Fairystone Lake Dr., Stuart, Virginia.  There is a fee for park entry.

GinGin loves learning about places he visits or has an overnight stay.  With Fairy Stone State Park being the first Virginia State Park he visited, it is his all time favorite place to spend time.  While there, he learned a tremendous amount of information from park rangers and staff but also learned a lot by reading the informative signs along his travels.  GinGin loves hiking by the beach, through the miles of trails in the area and of course, looking for fairy stones at a nearby hunt site.  With wildlife to watch, birds to identify as well as trees and plants, there are always great memories in the making here at Fairy Stone State Park.

Please do not post photos of any of the waypoints you travel to to avoid spoiling it for others.  Photos are welcome of activities at Fairy Stone Lake State Park and especially the scenic vistas you may hike through on their many trails.  Please stay on designated trails at all times.  Cache does not require you to get off the trail.  Please do not disturb any wildlife or vegetation.  Remember, you are at their "home".  Bring your own pen.

If driving, please leave your vehicle at N36 47.820 W080 06.724, which is the parking lot for the ampitheater.
