Geocache Description:

Welcome to our Freaky Things series. These caches a placed along the Apollo Bay Foreshore walk, starting at the Surf Club and ending at Wild Dog Road. It’s a 2.5km walk along the beautiful Apollo Bay.

The rhinoceros beetle is the largest of all beetles and is named that because the males generally have notable horns on the front end of the body. I use to think these beetles were a bit scary looking until I found one. Most intriguing beetles. The rhinoceros beetle is 60mm in length and is recognised by the large horns on its front. This black beetle uses its horns to try to knock other males off a tree when they smell a female. They also make hissing squeaks when disturbed.

You’re looking for a small screw top container. Please conceal the cache well after logging as it is a high muggle area.
