Erasmus+ project : Minds on the Move !
Applying Geocaching to Education

This cache is a part of a pedagogic European Erasmus + project called « Geocaching - Minds on the Move ». Pupils and teachers from seven different countries (France, Greece, Italy, Lithuania, Poland, Portugal and Spain) have used Geocaching as an Educational Tool. We hope you’ll enjoy it.
----------------------------------------------
The cache is situated near the Hospitality and Catering Services School Giuseppe Ravizza and the School of Agriculture Giuseppe Bonfantini.
The two schools are located at the outskirt of the city of Novara, and they are surrounded by rice fields.
The school of Agriculture boasts a beautiful park and orchard, which is maintained by the teachers and students. Access to the park is free, and visitors are welcomed to explore it – the list of plant species that can be found here is surprisingly long.
Giuseppe Bonfantini was a Maths teacher who got involved in politics and became mayor of Novara between 1915 and 1922. He was an anti-fascist, and for this reason he was considered dangerous by the regime and hampered in his career.
Ravizza Hospitality and Catering Services School is part of a bigger Institute that includes courses for Health and Social Care and Business Services. Ravizza’s headquarters are located in the city centre, opposite the Hospital Emergency Ward. The school takes its name from Giuseppe Ravizza (1811-1885), the inventor of a machine called “writing cembalo”, which was in fact a writing machine based on the functioning of the music instrument called cembalo (with piano-style keys and keyboard).
Bonfantini and Ravizza do not have much in common, yet they can inspire us because of their commitment to a cause: the first never betrayed his ideas, the second spent most of his life to turn a vision into something real.
After you have found the cache you may enjoy a walk and/or rest in the Spiritual Garden.
With respect to the original cache, the current one has been placed in a safer and cleaner place. Check among the trees :-)
Be careful! You will find some colourful small balls in the box. Feel free to pick one.
