矢橋（やばせ）道は、草津宿から京都方向に約１ｋｍ行ったところの旧矢倉村（矢倉道標）から、琵琶湖畔の「矢橋の渡」に至る２５町（約２．７ｋｍ）の道。
東海道をショートカットできる道として、多くの旅人で賑わいました。
『急がば回れ』の語源になった道でもあります。

正光寺

旧街道の雰囲気の残った道沿いに正光寺があります。
その左側に、草津歴史街道の案内板があり、矢橋街道についての説明が記されています。
