Geocache Description:

矢橋（やばせ）道は、草津宿から京都方向に約１ｋｍ行ったところの旧矢倉村（矢倉道標）から、琵琶湖畔の「矢橋の渡」に至る２５町（約２．７ｋｍ）の道。
東海道をショートカットできる道として、多くの旅人で賑わいました。
『急がば回れ』の語源になった道でもあります。

猿田彦神社

「街道の神・旅の安全を守る神」として有名な猿田彦神社。
この地は、南大萱、南笠、矢倉を結ぶ街道と、矢橋街道の分岐点に当る要地であった為、寛元二年に伊勢国浦田の里から猿田彦を勧請したと伝えられています。
