Geocache Description:

Suparman Meets King George IV

The old clock tower in Medan Pasar or Market Square in the old quarter of  Kuala Lumpur near the Central Market was designed by Arthur Oakley Coltman who was also the architect responsible for the design of a number of Art Deco structures in Kuala Lumpur like the former Overseas Chinese Bank, the Odeon Cinema, the Oriental Building, and the Lee Rubber Building and the Rubber Research Institute Building.  The Art Deco Clock tower was erected in 1937 in commemoration of the coronation of King George IV, but the original memorial plaques have been removed after Malaya gained its independence. The sunburst motif was prominently used here and can be seen at the doors at the bottom of the Clock Tower as well as the square surrounding the clock tower. The sunburst and rising sun motifs in Art Deco convey a sense of strength and optimism in a time when the Great Depression was imminent during that period.

Surrounding the Market Square are shop houses with façade which featured strongly emphasised vertical and horizontal elements with decorative expression reduced to patterns of abstract geometrical shapes.

Now about the cache

Suparman was out on a hot day and he is meeting up with his beau Lois Lane in 20 minutes. He just realised he hasn’t a drink water since this morning and his mouth is really stinky. So he needed to find the eclipse mints tin that he had hidden previously but forgotten where it is now. Please help him to find it. Unfortunately, the cache can't hold any mints now.

Please be stealthy when retrieving it.
