The Great Southern Hotel opened in 1889, with its foundation stone being laid by the Hon Thomas Bent. The name changed in the 1920s to Hotel Beaumaris. It has recently undergone a restoration (2016), which makes it one of our favourite views along this road. Speaking of views, we suggest you cross the road (safely) & take advantage of the broad sweep of Beaumaris Bay and Mentone Beach views.
This is a nano cache, byo pen.
Edit 11/7/22 - no longer a nano (yay) but a sneaky mint tin (boo). You'll still need to bring your own writing stick. No signy, no smiley.
Please apply extreme stealth at this location as there is constant foot, car or bicycle traffic at most times. Sometimes all three at once. I would avoid Sat/Sun morning when cyclists and coffee drinkers utilise the nearby café. Enjoy and replace where found.
