Where
Viewing platform close to Trossey's Cottage, Derrynoose, County Armagh
When
Saturday 7th October from 6pm to 6.30pm
At GZ there is a large stone that was discovered on the land nearby (see the page for the nearby GC39706 for more details) and a viewing platform which, on a clear day, allows for views across at least 9, possibly 10 counties!
The stone and viewing platform are on private land but permission has been given by the Makem family to visit the site for the event and to find the cache nearby. On the first Saturday of every month a traditional music and song session are held in Trossey's Cottage, which is beside GZ and an invitation to join the session after the event has been extended to all who attend.
Hopefully we will have a clear evening and the sunset is due to happen at 6.46pm so there should be a great view.
Thanks to John Makem for allowing access and to bawnman for his assistance in setting the event up.
**Please note**
Permission has been given for the event and anyone planning to attend should access the site via the waypoint provided and follow the concrete road to GZ. There is ample parking at GZ, but there are likely to be people around setting up the cottage for the session in the evening so please exercise caution when approaching.
