Geocache Description:

We haven’t put out any geocaches since we moved here.  It’s time to correct that oversight.   The cache is not at the published coordinates (I think there will be an oil change place there soon however), but there is plenty of parking in the vicinity of the actual site.

There’s no need to jump to conclusions at all.  All you have to do is determine the truth of the following statements … And they are easy!!  No problems at all!!  You will have this puzzle solved in no time!!

Below are a series of statements.  If the statement is true, log a 1.  If it is false, log a 0.  Then replace the letters below with the appropriate number … 1 (if true) or 0 (if false).

A             George Washington was the first President of the United States. (This is NOT a trick question)

B             The Boston Braves became the Milwaukee Braves and then the Atlanta Braves.

C             New Hampshire and Vermont were part of the original 13 colonies.

D            Eight (8) Presidents of the United States have died while in office.

E             Mickey Mantle played the majority of his career with the New York Mets.

F             Katharine Hepburn (with 4) has won more Oscars than anyone else.

G            A tomato is a vegetable (scientifically speaking).

T             The first five Presidents of the United States were all from the state of Virginia.

U            Nitrogen is the main chemical component of dry air.

V             Sentinels guard the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

W           Abraham Lincoln was a Democrat.

X             Woody Hayes was a legendary college football coach at The Ohio State University.

Y             1800 a.d. was a leap year.

Z             The word “criteria” is a plural noun form.

The Coordinates:

N            001A   001B   010C   100D   011E    011F   000G

W           0000   100T   001U   010V   001W   001X   001Y   011Z

That’s it!!

Determine the truth of the statements.

Use that info to calculate the coordinates.

Search for the cache.

And if the coordinates don’t match … Well, did you jump to a conclusion??

Be careful while searching.  But most of all enjoy the search!!   And don’t forget your pencil!
