Geocache Description:

The "Restin'" caches are a series that will take you to local cemeteries, places of great historical interest. From pioneers and modern people these places are full of interesting information. Please take your time - walk around, visit with the past. The caches are easy to find. Please respect where you are.

Cemetery? What cemetery? Like myself, you have probably driven past here several times without knowing the history. The majority of stones have been removed, but this 'field' is actually full of bodies. This site is south of Emily St. On the east side of Stanley St. It is known by three names; Mount St. Patrick, Roman Catholic Cemetery or St. Michael's. There are a few markers left on the site. First established in 1857 after the small plot for St. Michaels' church was filled.

Update December 2018- the city has now put up a few signs and a rock plaque about the cemetery. The sign says the cemetery was used 1856-1914 and that over 2000 bodies are buried here.
