Beijing Legation Quarter（东交民巷）
东交民巷是北京一条非常著名的街区，位于东城区南部，东起崇文门内大街，西至天安门广场东侧路，全长1552米，是目前北京市区内最长的胡同。
Located in the south of Dongcheng District, the Dongjiaominxiang Alley is a very famous street in Beijing. It runs from Chongwenmen inner street in the east to East road of Tiananmen square in the west. With a total length of 1552 meters, is the longest alley in Beijing city.
元代时，东交民巷和西交民巷是连在一起的一条胡同，因为地处漕运的要道而得名江米巷。明清两代，这里是朝廷的“五朝六部”。
When the Yuan Dynasty, Dongjiaominxiang Alley and Xijiaominxiang Alley is a lane together, because of the transportation routes located in name of glutinous Jiangmi Alley. At Ming and Qing Dynasties, here is the government offices.
1900年以后，东交民巷被划为使馆区，陆陆续续建有法国、日本、美国、德国、俄国、比利时、荷兰、意大利、奥地利等多国使馆，同时还开办有多家外国银行、教堂、医院、邮局、大饭店等，并出现了大量风格各异的西式建筑。
