Geocache Description:

We love baseball!!  Yeah, I know … too slow … no set time limit … too much time when nothing happens.  But that is part of the thrill of the game as far as I (Cee) am concerned.  There is so much strategy that goes into every decision.  Sometimes it works … sometimes it backfires … but every play can affect the outcome of the game.

I grew up in the Deep South.  There were NO local professional teams until the Braves moved from Milwaukee to Atlanta.  There were only 1 or 2 games on TV every week.  I learned to read a boxscore in the newspaper when I was 11.  I was 14 when I saw my first professional ballgame in person (Braves beat the Cubs 10-2 … Ernie Banks and Jim Hickman had HR’s … Hank Aaron hit a ground single by second base because the Cubs put 3 men on the right side of the infield).  I was 32 when I attended my next professional game (again in Atlanta).

The players were our heroes.  Between television and newsreels I remember watching some of the players who went on to the Baseball Hall of Fame.  Imagine a team comprised of Lou Gehrig, Hank Greenberg, Nellie Fox, Al Kaline, Brooks Robinson, Mickey Mantle and Cal Ripken.

And the rivalry never ended!  Consider having another team of all-time greats like Willie Mays, Tony Perez, Eddie Matthews, Johnny Bench, Doug Harvey, Hank Aaron and Jackie Robinson.

Oh, by the way, this is a puzzle cache so the final cache is NOT located at the posted coordinates (an open lot by the funeral home).  Solve the puzzle above (yes, there is one there) and you will be ready to claim a smiley for this cache.  You are looking for a micro hidden in a very logical spot!!

Parking at the site is abundant.  But please realize that the cache site may be overrun with muggles at certain times of the year.

Be careful.  Have fun.  But most of all enjoy the memories!  And don’t forget a writing stick!

You can check your answers for this puzzle on GeoChecker.com.
