Geocache Description:

A quick multi around St. John’s Church, Southbourne

St. John’s Church, Southbourne

The civil Parish of Southbourne is an artificial creation and can be seen as a collection of settlements.  Southbourne as a place name did not exist until 1876 when the church of St John the Evangelist was built on the corner of Main Road and Stein Road.

There is very little information published about this church.

Onto the cache.  The coordinates will take you to the front porch where there is a plaque on each side.

The Sun-dial is a memorial to Harry Walter Harris closely associated with this church from ABCD till his death 1st August 19EF from the family.

These doors were erected through the generousity of Walter James King a faithful worshipper in this church who died GH/JK/LM.

The cache is located a short walk away at N 50 (A+F)(A-D).E(F-C-D)(E-D)  W 000 (H+M)(L-H).(K-H)KH

As an additional hint, check out the reason the previous cache at this location was archieved (GC4F4C4).
