THE GEOCACHE is a family friendly, six inch (15cm) cube lock&lock container, in a camo bag, covered with additional local natural camo, hidden inside the stumps. It is on a service road into the wood, so please do not block the entrance which has a locked post and gate to stop unwanted vehicle access. It is usually quiet here, but beware of occassional muggles. There are swaps, a paper log with pencil, and plenty of room for Travel Bugs. Wellies are recommended in wet weather. The geocache is deployed with the kind permission of the Coastal Sites Team, Hampshire County Council.
THE VENUE for the WW series is Westwood, which is child and dog friendly, but the entrances might hinder buggies etc unless they are lifted. It is on the western side of Grange Fields, although the two sites have combined as one, under the single name of Westwood, and there are numerous points where you can cross between the two. The paths are a mixture of hard gravel, cut and uncut grass, woodland, and open grass. There is a picnic site within the venue, with tables, which is reasonably sheltered within the woodland. It can get very muddy, so wellies are recommended in wet weather. There are a number of areas where there are ponds and streams, so be careful of the water and thick mud. Most areas are fairly level, but there is a large hill and plateau just north of the picnic site. There are likely to be muggles some with dogs.
