Geocache Description:

Cache is not at the coordinates above. You must solve a simple puzzle to attain actual location. BYOP

This is a residential area, so please be discreet.

This cache is located just a few dozen feet from an historic highway. When you are at the GZ, what you hear and maybe see is the former Northeastern Expressway, opened in 1963. It is part of the Interstate 95 highway stretching from Maine to Florida. In his last public speaking appearance, President John F, Kennedy dedicated the highway in a ribbon cutting ceremony at the Mason-Dixon Line on November 14, 1963. This was also the Bicentennial of the Mason-Dixon Line. Eight days later, President Kennedy was assassinated in Dallas, Texas. The roadway was renamed the John F. Kennedy Memorial Highway in April, 1964, and that is still the official name of the portion of I-95 Between Delaware and Baltimore.

Funded by the Maryland State Roads Commission (now the Maryland Transportation Authority, MTA), this 48 mile portion of I-95 stretched from the Delaware line to the Baltimore City line and was completed in less than 2 years. The entire length of this highway was a tolled facility in both directions until 1993. Ramp tolls were collected at many of the interchanges until the early 1980s. The original cost of the highway was $73 million, equal to about $600 million today. Exits used to be numbered consecutively, from south to north, but are now numbered according to the closest mile marker.

Since this is the JFK Highway, to find the location of the actual cache, a little research might be required.

For the latitude: JFK is noted for his exploits in the navy during WWII. What is the number of the first boat he captained? Subtract this number from the numbers after the decimal.

For the longitude: JFK actually had fewer votes in the general election than his opponent, Richard M. Nixon. Sound familiar? Anyway, he won the Electoral College vote. How many Electoral College votes did JFK receive? Add this number to the numbers after the decimal.

Congrats to Wizard and Suzanne for FTF.
