Geocache Description:

Congratulations The Macho Homemaker on the FTF!

After the rainbow spiral, the camouflage-scrunch tie-dye was my top seller.

I hid a 1.2 liter Lock & Lock container in White Pine Valley Recreation Area.  This cache is part of a series inspired by my old tie-dye business.

When I tie-dyed 14 years ago, I was so tired of removing the rubber bands on all those dull camo t-shirts. Camo colors were always the same: Blah. They didn’t blend together to make interesting colors like the rainbow did. At the beginning, I would get a thrill each time I took the rubber bands off a tee and started to rinse it. After a while, the camo bored me.

There is so much work to making a tie dye. It started out as a craft I loved. Each tee was a piece of art. After a while, they ALL started to look the same.

The White Pine Valley Recreation Area is a 200-acre woodland area with a well-developed non-motorized trail system.  The location contains a parking area with trail maps, offering opportunities for hiking, biking, snowshoeing, cross country skiing, and hunting. (And now, Geocaching. Placed with permission.)

While I was there, I was all by myself. I am very impressed how nice the trails are. There were no bike tire tracks that I could see. But like always with bike trails, keep your eyes and ears open.

It’s hard to believe I haven’t tie dyed seriously for almost 14 years. Back then I sold t-shirts at festivals and such. The rainbow spiral was my best seller.

I wish I could call tie-dying a hobby, but if it was, I would still enjoy doing it today. I’m sick of making them, but I love wearing them.
