Kit Hill Country Park. A park which is part of the Tamar Valley Area of Natural Beauty and renowned for it's mining history and achieving World Heritage status for this history. It was given to the people of Cornwall by the Duchy of Cornwall in 1985 to celebrate the birth of Prince Andrew.
This cache is placed to give you a feel of that mining history. If you have already done my cache , 'Adit Bridge' then you will have seen the start of this tramway and can probably picture the wagons full of ore trundling down this valley to be emptied into iron buckets and taken away on an ariel cableway to the crushing plant at Clitters Mine, Gunnislake.
The valley is not deep and the slope of the sides I would call medium. You can enter easily from by the road.
