Geocache Description:

Western Australia has a rich and interesting geological heritage, and many mineral products are exported from here. Find the Ore Obelisk in Sterling Park and find out a little more about the minerals of this gargantuan state.

This ore obelisk was erected to celebrate Western Australia reaching 1 million population (the population is now more than 2.5 million). The obelisk gives an indication of the extent of mineral wealth in Western Australia, and where it can be found, and illustrates the expansion of the mining industry in the 1960's in Western Australia. To find the answers necessary to log this cache, find the Ore Obelisk (though I have heard it more correctly referred to as a “kebab”!) .
