I've been hiking up on this ridge many times for the views. In September 2017, I hiked here on a Thursday, and again the following Monday, and to my surprise a brand new homemade sign had been erected in the intervening time. I'm not sure who erected it, but I'll bet his/her name was "Fulton". I enjoyed the nice view of Payson, and I'll bet you will too.
You have several options for approaching this cache. It is located only a few feet from an ATV trail, so if you have an ATV, Jeep, or Dirt Bike, you can drive right to it. Otherwise you will have to hike to it. You have three main options:
- Park at: N 34° 13.805 W 111° 21.340, near the golf course clubhouse, and hike south to the Peach Orchard Loop Trail on the first shoulder you come to. Turn right and hike the trail to the second junction and turn left. The round trip should be a little over three miles, so this is not the shortest way, but the hiking trail is the best, and there are several other caches to find along the way.
- Park at or near: N 34° 13.339 W 111° 23.034, and hike up the ATV trail to the first junction and take a right. This is probably the shortest route at just a bit over a two mile round trip, but the trail is steep and rocky.
- Park at: N 34° 13.706 W 111° 23.024, and bushwhack up the ridge. This will be a 2.3 mile round trip, and the bushwhacking is not difficult. This way offers the least climbing, and the best views. You can also find the Dollbaby Multicache along this route.
