Geocache Description:

Chinggis Khan (c. 1162 – August 18, 1227), born Temüjin, was the Great Khan and founder of the Mongol Empire, which became the largest contiguous empire in history after his death. He came to power by uniting many of the nomadic tribes of Northeast Asia. After founding the Empire and being proclaimed "Chinggis Khan", he launched the Mongol invasions that conquered most of Eurasia.

“Chinggisiin Khuree (Chinggis’ Place)” complex is located in 5 km distance from south west gate of Ulaanbaatar city. In previous centuries, Mongolians used to call their settlement “khuree”, which literally means a “circle”, in which the yurt of the khan was located in the center and the yurts of the other members of the tribe were placed around it. The cache is located at north mountain side of the complex and you can see great view of the “khuree” and statue of Chinggis Khan. The cache is small plastic container containing Mongolian souvinirs, Mongolian coins, stickers, pencil and logbook
