This is the first in a series of memorial caches to Pete VanGorder.
Pete VanGorder was a life long resident of Virgil, NY. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He always gave back to his town and helped his community and lived the phrase "it takes a village." He was town supervisor, on the town council, lifetime PTO award winner, created an entire pumpkin village each October for the enjoyment of the town children, and drove school bus. He was the embodiment of what a small community is. He knew everyone in town and was a friend to all. This cache is placed in the community center on a great walking trail that everyone should come and enjoy. There are memorial trees here, and he has one, but the cache is not placed in his tree due to a proximity to another cache. Please take a moment to,enjoy the view of our beautiful town and what working as a community can build. This is a micro cache tied in. Tweezers may be needed. Enjoy our town and we ask that you give back to your community in any way that you can!! Congrats to Tundra Wolf for FTF!!!
