The beginning of Outlet Stores was simple.
Factory owners didn’t want to throw the damaged or excess goods away.
So, they sold to their employees for better prices – then to non-employees.
In the 1930’s companies usually had a store attached to a
factory or warehouse and customers could watch the production
process and buy products for better prices.
In 1936, the very first “independent outlet store” was built
for a men’s clothing brand Anderson-Little.
1974, Vanity Fair opened the first mult-store outlet center in Reading, PA.
In the 1980’s & 1990’s outlet malls grew rapidly.
An Electrical Outlet is a socket that connects an electrical device
to an electricity supply.
The original two prong electrical plug and socket were invented
by Harvey Hubbell in 1904. This brought the convenience of
portable electrical devices into US homes
(it was already enjoyed in Great Britain since the early 1880s).
