A Fine Pair # 942 ~ New Bolsover
How Geocaching Works
Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions in our disclaimer
Number 942 in a series of caches where a red telephone box is in close proximity to a post box.
The only rules are that they have to be able to be photographed together, be not more than 100’ apart and the phone boxes have to be red
There is nothing at the published coordinates, which are for the mid-point between the red phone box and the post box. You will need to visit each of the Fine Pair in turn to obtain values in order to calculate the location of the cache. This is my first cache in the Fine Pair series, which was originally started by a cacher called wizardsmum.
You will be looking for a micro cache.
The cache only contains a log sheet , so please BYOP , and remember ! NO SIGNY - NO FINDY !!!
Find the 11-digit number for this phone box - it is given on a card under the words "This phone is at" To help complete the Coordinates you will need: 01246 ABCDEFk
Find the time of day for the Saturday collection = G (ignore whether it mentions am or pm). To complete the Coordinates, what time of day is the latest area collection = HIJ
Cache can be found at:
N 53 13.((A*B)-(C*E)) (G) (B) W 001 18.((G*C)-(A+G+C)) (D) ((H+J)-D)
Checksum (Final Coordinates, ALL as single digits) =52
The A Fine Pair series was originally started by wizardsmum but is now managed by mattd2k
If anybody would like to place 'A Fine Pair' of their own please do. I would just ask that you first visit www.afinepair.co.uk to request a number to avoid any duplication
mattd2k also keeps a public Bookmark List of this series. Once your cache is published please contact him via firstname.lastname@example.org to have yours added
