Este cache os llevará hasta un singular homenaje a José Miguel de Barandiarán, sacerdote, antropólogo, etnólogo y arqueólogo vasco, autor de numerosas y reconocidas investigaciones relativas al folclore y etnografía vasca. Debido a la dictadura franquista, la importancia de su labor entre sus contemporáneos fue principalmente valorada en la esfera internacional, puesto que en España se silenciaba la existencia de, entre otras, la cultura vasca.
ENGLISH VERSION
This cache will bring you to a one of a kind tribute to José Miguel de Barandiarán. Soon after being ordained as a priest, he took up ethnographical studies of Basque culture and archeology around 1916 in the Aralar Mountains. He carried out invaluable research into folk traditions and collecting accounts and tales related to Basque mythology, really important task specially duiring the spanish dictatorship when, among others, Basque culture was silenced.
