Seeing Red
Some history...
The red trail was initially mapped out by myself and the Highland Ranger. We knew the boundaries and fleshed out a potential trail.
Some time later, after doing more mapping, we had a basic trail and the Boy Scouts helped to cut out a lot of it.
A second pack of Boy Scouts added benches throughout the preserve. Two of them are on the red trail.
Mom and I noticed a tree needed to come out but did not want the Scouts touching it. We thought it safer for us to do it. That's when, as my sister put it, I tried to “break mom” as one of the branches caught her above her eye and the red flowed resulting in a trip to close the wound and add some stitches.
A while ago Burgandy Bug had attempted to place another cache in here but since she did not ether find the multi/did not have one of the sets of coordinates, she could not get far enough away from it to get hers published.
Lord Scoville and I visited the preserve and hid a container back on 11/21/2015. Vowing not to hide a “traditional” cache, I waited to come back to make it a multi.
Today is 9/29/2017 and it took quite some time to come back to finalize this one. After being stung by whatever on the blue trail, I was Seeing Red and thinking of Ferdinand.
There are quite a few meanings to the red in the title and quite a few more memories that I have for this trail. It is not a long one but it is my favorite one in the preserve.
