Geocaching NSW would like to extend an invitation to all geocachers to come along to our Spring 2017 Event. Come join us at Sydney Park, St Peters for some Geocaching fun!
The event will be held in the shadow of the brick kilns, look out for the gazebo and banner. Nearby there is a playground, public toilets and a kiosk. The event is a meet and greet and will be held on Sunday, 22nd October, 2017, commencing at 10am and concluding around 2pm. There will be a group photo taken at 1pm.
A member of the committee will be arriving early to hopefully secure a spot but please bring picnic blankets, chairs, and don't forget a hat and sunscreen. BYO all your food and drink requirements or use the local kiosk / businesses to cater for you.
An optional part of the day, for the adventurous or those looking to brush up on their skills and confidence for some higher terrain caches, is a session of Indoor Rock Climbing at a nearby centre. We have negotiated a group discount as long as we have at least 10 people join us. To this end, please note in your "Will Attend" if you are planning to learn the ropes so to speak.
Indoor Rock Climbing
Cost: $18pp including all needed equipment hire (pending 10 participants)
Location: See the waypoint, about 10 minute walk from the event GZ.
Time: 10:30am sharp. We'll be leaving in a group from Sydney Park at 10:15am, or you can meet us there.
Duration: As long as you like! (Though we'll try to be back for the group event photo around 1pm).
Details: Open to all ages and abilities. Children under 18 must be accompanied. There will be a safety briefing and training on belaying and harness usage then open-climbing to test yourself! Experienced climbers welcome to help out.
Events are a great way to meet new people and make new friends with a common interest, pick up the latest information on equipment, techniques and software and share stories about the latest caching adventure. You may even pick up a hint or two on those annoying DNFs.
Please post a “Will Attend” log and add this event to your watchlist so that you will receive any announcements that are made. If you have any questions, please contact us at contact@geocachingnsw.asn.au
We look forward to seeing you there, climbers and all!
Cheers,
Geocaching NSW Committee
