North Staffs Special Adventure Playground (also known as Our Space) is a safe environment for kids with learning difficulties and / or physical disabiliies for whom a standard playground would not be accessible or suitable, as wel as providing support for their families.
It recently closed down because of lack of funding, but fortunately was rescued and reopened in May 2017.
It is a charity run venture, and so they welcome any help! The grounds are large, so when I contacted them regarding a CITO there they were very keen! There will be lots of tasks within the grounds maintenance, so we may be asked to do a variety of things from pruning trees, to painting, to cleaning, to maintenance etc. They have a working party in that day (the centre is closed on a Sunday so it allows for maintenance to be done without getting in the way of the sessions going on), who we will be joining.
