This short series, of 5 caches + a bonus follows part of the Oldbury Power Station "Dunlin Nature Trail" but since the decommisioning of the power station most references to the trail have been removed. It provides an interesting walk past orchards and a pond then on to panoramic views of the River Severn and beyond while walking around the perimeter of the power station. Our original cache used the Nature Trail information boards for clues but as these have now been removed we have sadly had to archive it as a multi. However because we feel the area is still worthy of taking a walk around it we have now replaced it with 5 caches along the route with information in each one that you will need to note down which will then enable you to find the co-ordinates for the Bonus Cache. Each cache can be logged in its own right. Unfortunately due to suitable hiding places it is only the Bonus Cache that is large enough to hold trackables. All the others are about the same size as a 35mm film canister but we have tried to make them a bit more interesting which is why they may be listed as a " ? ". Please take your own pen. You may like to take binoculars as well. The route is mainly on firm footpaths but some parts may be a bit soggy after rain. Only #1 is suitable for wheelchairs and buggies. Please keep to the footpaths. (No livestock or ploughed fields to encounter.) OPSS #1 The Start Please be aware of muggles at this cache, no specialist equipment required to remove log.
Remember to note down the number from this cache for the bonus. ( A = )
Follow the tarmac path ahead for #2 and on your right you will see a gateway into the old Cider Apple Orchard and when in season, nice blackberries in the hedges
