Geocache Description:

A very out of the way geocache located at the Dumas Tunnel. This tunnel is reportedly haunted by a headless woman that died in a train crash in 1892.

BYOP - Its a simple park and grab but the road getting here can be rough in some areas. Small cars, campers, or vehicles with trailers are not recommended. If you come in from the North there are a couple of low water crossings that can get deep if its been raining. I come here in a minivan... but thats me....

The container has come up missing twice since placed so in order to log this please take a pic of the tunnel and upload it or send to me in an email or private message. I feel its more about the location than a film container.

Several legends go along with this tunnel

The legend of the headless woman comes from a train wreck that happened back in early fall of 1892. Its reported there were approximately 13 deaths. Many of them being thrown into the river just a little way up from the tunnel. Its believed that the womans head was lost to the river. and she is still seeking it. She reportedly walks mostly in the fall and when she passes thru you, you feel like a thousand icicles are stabbing you.

Legend also says that there was a small dwelling near the tunnel where a huge mean dog used to live, and its ghost with bright yellow eyes still roams the area also.

Another legend says that there are several dead babies buried  in the area. A woman kept having miscarriages and her husband buried the corpses all around the area.
