We were thrilled to see that this beautiful Rest Area with views of the lake is finally re-opened ! We stopped here for a picnic on our way home from an anniversary trip to Nashville and decided that this excellent picnic area on the ridge deserved a new geocache !
Container is a lightly camo'd round container, placed near cedar trees. In spite of what your GPS may tell you, do NOT take the shortest path toward it, either by car or foot ! Park in a designated parking space in the rest area. Cross the truck parking area at the crosswalk and climb up the stairs provided. No bushwacking ! Once up on the hilltop, among the picnic tables, admire the views of the lake on both sides on I-24 ! Now, walk along the ridge top beyond the picnic tables to a grove of cedar trees. The container you seek is nestled there. There is poison ivy and thorns nearby, but not right where the cache is.
BYOP. Room in this container for small trade items and trackables.
