Geocache Description:

East Bairnsdale Wetlands #2.

This area retains water during floods and high rainfall and is surrounded by a beautiful gravel walking track.  Two wetlands and drains have been built to help future development and improve the environment. Some 160,00 seedlings and over 30 locally native plants have been planted within the wetlands.  Plants used in these wetlands were chosen to change the landscape into a wetland system.

Plants have been selected that will, clean the water to remove pollutants and produce owygen, reduce algal growth, contribute to biodiversity and provide habitat for frogs, fish, insects, birds, reptilies and other animals.

Now that you are here, take the time to continue the walk around the wetlands.
