Geocache Description:

Anyone searching for this geocache will find themslves in a beautiful new regional park located between Saratoga Beach and Miracle Beach on Vancouver island. The park is called Driftwood Marine Park. There have been new trails added plus some new bridges over streams. This is a great place for walking, jogging and bike riding or just enjoying nature.

Searching for this cache will take the geocacher along one of the new trails in Driftwood Marine Park. The trail can be accessed from the south end of Driftwood road or at a curve along Clarkson Ave about a kilometer from Miracle Beach Drive. The cache container is a clear plastic waterproof container with locking lid. The cache is located not too far from a newly erected bat house. The idea of the bat house is to attract little brown bats so that they can feed on the mosquitoes that are quite numerous in this area because of the nearby marsh. A single little brown bat can catch 600 mosquitoes in one hour. Little brown bats usually feed for about two hours after sunset and two hours before sunrise. This can be a popular area. Watch for muggles.
