Geocache Description:

Anyone searching for this geocache will find themselves in a beautiful new regional park located between Saratoga Beach and Miracle Beach on Vancouver Island. The park is called Driftwood Marine Park. There have been some new trails added  plus some new bridges over streams. This is a great place for walking, jogging and bike riding or just enjoying nature.

Searching for this cache will take the geocacher along a trail in the park that used to be part of the road named Beach Crescent. The trail can be accessed from near the sign for the park which is located at the sharp curve on Clakson Ave. The trail can also be accessed from the north end of Beach Crescent near the mouth of the Black Creek. There is a bridge over a stream at that location where spawning salmon can be seen when there is water flowing in late fall. Half way along the trail is a new trail to a viewing platform overlooking the marsh. This is a tidal marsh and is habitat for ducks, kingfishers, Blue Heron, racoons and deer. Please keep any dogs on a leash.  The cache container is a clear plastic waterproof container with locking lid. Inside is a logbook, pen and some swag. Please take some or add some.
