Dnešné sídlisko Sotina (historicky Szotinafalva, Szottina) bolo obec na Záhorí, ktorá sa roku 1960 stala mestskou časťou okresného mesta Senica. Nachádzala sa v jeho severnej časti. Pôvodný ráz mestskej časti zanikol výstavbou sídliska na jej území.
Sídlisko sa pýšní základnou a materskou školou, zimným a fotbalovým štadionom, poliklinikou, novým kostolom.
 
V súčasnosti na jej území na sever od Sídliska vzniká radová zástavba Nová Sotina.

The present district of Sotina (historically Szotinafalva, Szottina) was a village in Záhorí, which in 1960 became the district of the town of Senica. It was in its northern part. The original character of the urban part was lost by the construction of a settlement on its territory. The residence has an elementary school and kindergarten, a winter and a football stadium, a polyclinic, a new church. Nowadays, on its territory to the north of Sídlisko, there is a new settlement named Nová Sotina.
