Bungal Vista

The Bungal Dam supplies water to Ballarat and Geelong. Its name was derived from the Aboriginal word Bungal which means "each" or "equal" divisions of. 

The dams catchment is on the Moorabool Rivers Western Arm. 

The dam wall is 49m high and 235m wide. Its capacity is about 60,000 Megalitres and has about 21km of shoreline. 

Not far away is the Blast Furnace picnic spot. It is recommended that you do the historic walk that takes about 20 minutes if you like to see a bit of history. 

The cache is a mega bison hidden in a way familiar to most geocachers. There is plenty of parking quite close to the GZ. Take care as you descend. The views from this spot is quite special. So remember your camera!
