The Old Stone Church was built in 1892 to replace a church that was destroyed by fire in 1890. This beautiful building was only used as a house of worship for 10 years as it was taken during the construction of the Wachusett Reservoir. The Baptist Society received $22,500 for the loss of the church. On April 13, 1973, the Old Stone Church was listed on the National Registry of Historic Places.
This is now a simple two part multi. It should be findable in the winter in an obvious spot. I adopted this cache because it is an oldie and a multi and a wonderful beautiful place any time of the year. The final is the original from August 2002 with the original log book. I’d recommend a walk onto the causeway to get a different view of the Old Stone Church. I’d also love to see photo’s of this beautiful church with your log. There is also a Virtual Cache at this lovely spot, so don't forget to do that also!
Add ABC to 22.509 and DEF to 46.966 for final cache location (Don’t forget to carry the one!)
