Carquinez Scenic Drive aka Snake Road as the locals call it takes you through the outskirts of Martinez down to Port Costa and beyond. Gate is closed to vehicle traffic from about 6pm to 7am, is technically accessible 24/7 if on bike/foot. There is a small pull out just before the cache which is accessible from the road.
This is a very scenic drive as you can easily view the Carquinez Strait from the road. I run along this road from time to time with my running groups and the view never gets old as well as the long twisty routes. Enjoy!
