Geocache Description:

This is the first geocache in a series of caches that direct players on a tour of the Nashwaak Watershed, a beautiful and environmentally significant area that stretches from Nashwaak Lake in Central New Brunswick all the way to the confluence of the Nashwaak River with the Saint John River.

A "watershed" is the term used to refer to all of the land that drains into one area or body of water. The Nashwaak Watershed encompasses all of the land in which rivers, streams, brooks, ponds, lakes, wetlands, meltwater, groundwater and runoff drain into the Nashwaak River. As you may have noticed, the Nashwaak River emptys into the Saint John River, meaning that it is also part of a bigger watershed, the Saint John River Watershed!
