Geocache Description:


There is Ohama Kumano Ohjinjya shrine in the southern part of Hekinan City. Tamatsuura seaside resort was opened in 1915 along the beach in the western part of the shrine. The turtle's eggs laying was seen as the beach and they enjoyed getting clams there. The seaside resort also received damage by the Ise bay typhoon's in 1959, and the seaside resort disappeared by protection of the bank and making the Kinuura seaside industrial zone thereafter.

The published coordinates show in Ohama Kumano Ohjinjya shrine. The cache is hidden somewhere near the shrine. A tiny cache is waiting for you.

大浜熊野大神社
仁安3年（1168）9月、州崎に数本の大木が漂着する。村人が見つけ引き上げようとするが、頑として動かず、しかも夜には光を放つ。そこで当時、棚尾にいた長田白正が現地に向かい、全ての大木を小山へと引き上げる。そのうちの一本に「大一」の文字。割ってみると「熊野権現」と書かれた宝剣が出てきた。そこで大木を引き上げた小山に、宝剣を御神体とした宮を造営し、仁安3年（1168）9月7日を創建の日と定めた。現在の地へと移ったのは創建から約200年後のことである。
