This is a Micro container Exchange Christmas Event with a twist! You do not have to participate in the exchange to log the event as a find, but if you do wish to participate in the exchange you must follow the rules listed below. Event will last from 10:00 am until 10:45 am. Hot Chocolate, Christmas treats and prize draws will be available for all adults who attend. Last year we had over 30 prizes for adults. Separate Prize draws for all cachers under the age of 15. (Every child shall win something)
Come on out and join the fun !! Wear your ugliest Christmas sweater or t-shirt to show us your Holiday spirit. there will be a prize for the cacher with the ugliest outfit of the day. New this year a photo booth ! Capture those memories and post them to the event page.
Micro Container exchange rules *These containers are not to be published as a regular cache, they are only for the event participants.
1) Prior to coming to the event, you must hide a Christmas Cache to be exchanged with another geocacher somewhere within 5 km of the Meeting place at the park in ride at Townline and the 401. The cache container must be a regular size at minimum and you may place whatever swag in it that you wish and hide it to be found after the event. Please make sure your gift container is weather resistant and critter-proof. Don't forget to mark a waypoint for your hidden gift for step 2.
2) When you attend the event you must bring a Micro Container. Inside the Micro Container will be a slip of paper with the coordinates of the Christmas Cache you hid for another cacher to find and at.least one hint. You can be as creative as you want in hiding your Christmas Cache. You can make it a traditional type cache, or you can make it an easy puzzle-cache or multi-cache to make the hunt more fun. Please keep in mind that cachers of all skill levels will be in attendance so please do not make your cache too hard to find but still a fun search. Use your imagination! In addition, you should write your geocaching name and cell number on the paper just in case the Christmas seeker needs some extra help to find their Christmas Cache.
3) At the event, the Micro Containers will all be placed in a Christmas stocking. Once all containers are collected Everyone who places a Micro container in the stocking will then be able to randomly choose another Micro Container from the stocking that contains the way points to the cache that is theirs to seek, find and keep.
4) After the Micro Container Exchange, we will take a group photo Draws will take place right after the group photo. Everyone who attends gets a draw.ticket.
5) After the draw the event will be over and you may disperse to go find your Christmas Cache. Remember... the entire cache is yours to keep including the container so make sure you take everything with you after the hunt. These containers are not to be left behind but can be used by the finder later to be published as a regular cache if you so wish.
6) If you are participating in the exchange please log your attended after you have found your Christmas Cache and let us know how your search went and remember to thank the person who left you the gift. You may share what your Christmas Cache contained if you like and feel free to post pictures of the Christmas Cache too. You can even post a picture of the hiding spot since this is not a regular cache placement. Most of all have fun!
