Lanarkshire was once full of steelworks producing all types and grades of steel. It was a dirty and often dangerous occupation for anyone who worked there. Many men lost their lifes while working, the exact number is not known but over the decades it is thought it runs into several hundred. In June 2105 a memorial by a local sculpture costing £200,000 was unveiled im memorial to all those who perished.
Will any former steelworkers who find it please say what works they worked in and i can tick it off below.
