The lights from the streets and the courtyards, the illuminated windows of early morning bedrooms, hotel rooms, houses, shops, taverns and markets, fought through the night to outshine the stars. The glitter of lights went on forever until abruptly stopping like a spotlight on a stage, the city drenched in light placed in the middle of the dark valley before me.

 

How to follow the trail

• Follow a set of white reflective tacks, placed just above eye level in the trees, along a dark and winding trail...
• When you come to two tacks placed next to each other, this means to make a turn. If you become lost, your path forward will be visible from these double tacks
• The tacks will take you deep into the woods, over hills and through open meadows. The tacks maybe off to the side of the trail, but stay on the trail until the last few hundred feet, where you will have to bushwhack through trees and into an open field of tall grass and scrub brush, where you will find the cache marked by three tacks close together.
• Once you have found the cache, I have marked the return trail for you with the same white tacks. Look closely. The return tacks have a black X through them.
