Poor route finding could get you in trouble on this one so please pay attention. Start by finding the tc life's "Horseshoe Lake Viewpoint". That cache page has parking coords and some trailhead waypoints to get you on the right path. Then continue up the trail to, "Nigel's Horseshoe Lake Cache" (yeah, I know this is taking you farther away. Trust me.) Several trails come together at Nigel's cache, look for a big fallen log, climb over it and head up to the right. Follow this until it seems reasonable to head left straight up the hill, using game trails and bushwhacking..
