A party favorite today, guacamole has been a part of traditional Mexican cuisine since the 16th century, when it was made and eaten by the Aztecs as a sauce.
Guacamole, like chocolate, is a gift to mankind from the Aztecs. They first thought of mashing together avocados with spices to make a sauce and boy, am I thankful.
Guacamole has only a few ingredients, so freshness is key. You can also breathe a little easier because avocados are sodium- and cholesterol-free, and most of their 5 grams of fat per serving is of the monounsaturated variety (aka "good" fat).e!
