Geocache Description:

Bee Tree Park was originally Bee Tree Farm, owned by Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Dutton Nims. In 1927, they built the massive stone building that you see on the left as you enter the park. The Nims soon discovered that their mansion, with its sweeping view of the Mississippi River, was a hotbed of paranormal activity. When the property was sold to St. Louis County 40 years later, the Nims estate asked that the farm be turned into a park and that the hauntings never be spoken of again.

While exploring this area last spring, we came across a creepy run-down shack that may have originally been part of the old Nims farm. The shack has a chimney but no stove inside. The wind, blowing through the windows, caused a strange moan that was a little unnerving. We reported the find to the park rangers. They checked it out, and gave us the okay to place a cache here. Hopefully, you won't encounter any paranormal activity while you are exploring the area. There are now boards across the doors and windows, so you'll have to find the way in through the cellar. You may wish to bring a flashlight since it is very dark inside. The cache is located in the center of the room.

Although it may be tempting, DO NOT park in or on the Nims mansion driveway. A ghostly wrecker may tow your vehicle away.
